Howdy! Yesterday I sent over an email asking for potential volunteers to come alongside Ruth and work with Speak Up to help her with online publishing and other creative projects. I talked with her on the phone today and she's really excited about the possible partnerships there. Please do email me if you're interested. -- Also — there is a financial need. Ruth sells Speak Up magazines and personally-designed greeting cards as her source of income. We're looking for donors who can help fund some small print runs for these to re-equip her with needed supplies. She's also seen her medical costs skyrocket due to new medications. Aiming for $800 total. The first $200 covers a quick print run of greeting cards. The next $250 goes to emergency support. The rest covers a magazine print run for her to sell at a higher profit, which will sustain her income for several months.
Thanks for considering! Your gifts are tax-deductible. Important — we want these emails to go to the right place, so if you aren't interested in hearing from Speak Up, please do hit unsubscribe! All best, Matt Shaw |
Writing groups that bring people together.

Perhaps you tuned in a decade ago when his inspiring writings won international acclaim from the International Network of Street Papers. I know this email is coming to you out of...

Hello Reader, I hope you are well and made it safely through the ice storm-ish of last weekend. And now: wishing you safety, warmth, and good times during this weekend's snow bomb cyclone event. I went to the store today and bought some hot chocolate, in case of cheery snow day emergency. Hopefully you are similarly equipped! At this point, we will plan on having writing groups next week. I suspect that tomorrow's snowfall won't be a hindrance to Tuesday travel and writing. Next Week's...
