Vince Needs Help

Reader,

I'm sending you this email because you've followed or connected with our friend Vince at some point over the last couple years.

Possibly you signed up to follow his Substack called I Am Vince. Or maybe you donated to a previous campaign we ran to help him meet emergency needs as he battled homelessness. Perhaps you tuned in a decade ago when his inspiring writings won international acclaim from the International Network of Street Papers.

I know this email is coming to you out of nowhere. So please unsubscribe right away if you aren't interested.

I'm the Executive Director of a charity called Speak Up. We bring people together in writing groups that cross social, cultural, and economic divides. For a decade we published a magazine written by people facing homelessness.

Right now I'm emailing because Vince is really struggling. Facing homelessness, illness, and desperately in need of basics for life. He's going to send me an update that I will share with you shortly. But for now — can you make a donation toward his needs right now? It'll get him a phone, decent food, and a bus ticket to better resources.

Anything helps! Even 39 cents.

Thank you,

Matt Shaw

Ruth sells Speak Up magazines and personally-designed greeting cards as her source of income. We're looking for donors who can help fund...

Hello Reader, I hope you are well and made it safely through the ice storm-ish of last weekend. And now: wishing you safety, warmth, and good times during this weekend's snow bomb cyclone event. I went to the store today and bought some hot chocolate, in case of cheery snow day emergency. Hopefully you are similarly equipped! At this point, we will plan on having writing groups next week. I suspect that tomorrow's snowfall won't be a hindrance to Tuesday travel and writing. Next Week's...
